Michael Meo     

Michael Meo (trumpet) is an active teacher and performer in the Atlanta and Athens area. Currently, Michael is requested as a trumpet player across genres. He has worked with groups such as Band of Horses, Orquestra MaCuba, East Coast Entertainment Bands, Futurebirds, and Emerald Empire Band. In 2017, Michael graduated with degrees in music and business from the University of Georgia, where he studied with Phil Smith, Brandon Craswell, and Dave D'Angelo. He was featured as a soloist with the university’s premiere wind ensemble, brass band, and jazz band in concert over 15 times, including the Hodgson Wind Ensemble’s tour across Panama. In addition to serving as principal with the Hodgson Wind Ensemble and the UGA Symphony Orchestra, he has performed as principal/lead trumpet for 3 orchestral festivals across 4 different countries. 

Josh Klein     

Josh Klein (trumpet) has studied both classical and jazz literature for 7 years. He graduated with degrees in music theory and trumpet performance from the University of Georgia. His motivation to create and perform music comes from a deep desire to translate the complex emotions we all experience into sound.

José Moran     

José Moran (alto saxophone) is a graduate of the University of Georgia, where he pursued a biochemistry and molecular biology major and a jazz minor. Encouraged by his mother to play a musical instrument, he began playing saxophone in 6th grade. He began studying jazz his first year at the university.José's music influences include Robert Glasper, John Coltrane, Miguel Zenon, Moonchild, Stefano di Battista, Bill Evans, Cal Tjader, Jaco Pastorius, Eddie Palmieri, and Mario Bauza.

Chandler Greer     

Chandler Greer (tenor saxophone) is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a degree in philosophy and a jazz minor. Chandler's interest in music began at age 11, when he attended his first jazz concert. Ever since then, Chandler has made it his mission to spend his life performing and writing music. Chandler's musical influences include Dexter Gordon, Mario Castro, Donnie Hathaway, Shaun Martin, Bill Laurance, J Cole, Frank Ocean, Lauryn Hill, and Stevie Wonder.

Miller May     

Miller May is a saxophonist and 4th year undergraduate music composition major at the University of Georgia. Originally from Columbus, GA, Miller moved to Athens, GA to study saxophone under the instruction of Dr. Connie Frigo, and composition under Dr. Adam Roberts and Dr. Adrian 
Childs. Miller tries to be equally active in both classical and jazz settings and has been performing at UGA and around the Athens area for the past couple of years. After college, Miller wishes to be an active performer and composer in both jazz and classical music.

Malik Henry     

Malik Henry (trombone) graduated as a math major and music minor from the University of Georgia. His musical career began at age 6 singing solos in the church choir, and his trombone career began at age 11, when he joined middle school band. His musical influences include Trombone Shorty, Charles Mingus, Gorillaz, Childish Gambino, Alabama Shakes, Young The Giant, and J. Cole.

Paul Nelson     

Paul Nelson (bass trombone) is a graduate of the University of Georgia with degrees in music theory and trombone performance. Based out of Athens, GA, he freelances as a performer and arranger around the southeast. He has performed with groups such as Band of Horses, Futurebirds, Universal Sigh, The Orange Constant, and more.

Matt Vu     

Matt Vu (keyboards) is a graduate of the University of Georgia, where he studied music. His first venture into music began with piano at the age of seven. He later joined school band, marking the beginning of his time as a euphonium and trombone player. While living in Athens and attending UGA, he has had opportunities to dabble in multiple musical endeavors, including performance, composition and education. Matt draws influences from musicians such as Bill Evans, OutKast, and the Stan Kenton Orchestra, among others.

Warren Lawson     

Warren Lawson (bass) graduated with a degree in music composition and a music business certificate from the University of Georgia. He's been playing tuba and bass since middle school, when he gave up guitar after deciding that using a pick was too hard. Warren has performed with several artists, including Macy Gray and Pip the Pansy (formerly Wrenn). Some of Warren's musical influences are Snarky Puppy, Vulfpeck, Benny Greb, The Goat Rodeo Sessions, Youngblood Brass Band, Galactic, and Incubus.

Wesley Sumpter

Wesley Sumpter (drums & percussion) is a recent graduate of the University of Georgia with a degree in percussion performance. He has performed as substitute timpanist/percussionist with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Louisiana Philharmonic, Symphony Orchestra Augusta and the Albany Symphony in Georgia.  He was a semifinalist in the 2014 and 2015 Atlanta Modern Snare Drum Competition.  Wesley has attended the Eastern Music Festival and Aspen Music Festival and School and he was a drummer on VH1’s feature film, Drumline 2: A New Beat. An avid drumset player, Wesley has performed as a drummer and freelancer throughout Athens and Atlanta, Georgia.  He has played with artists such as Macy Gray and has performed as a member of various bands including Bridges (Folk/Rock) and Misnomer (Funk/Fusion). When in Atlanta, Wesley teaches at Benjamin E. Mays High School.

Mason "Sugatoes" Davis

Mason Davis (drums & percussion) began playing percussion at an early age and went on to receive a degree in jazz performance from Valdosta State University. He works with Snarky Puppy as their drum and percussion tech.

Taylor Ransom

Taylor Ransom (drums) is a 2014 graduate of the University of Georgia, earning a degree in music composition and a music business certificate. He is an active percussion educator in Georgia and deeply involved in the marching percussion idiom. In the performance realm, he has had the pleasure of drumming with acts such as Shudderdog (Blues/Rock), Zale (Rock), Pip the Pansy (fka Wrenn) (Pop/Folk), and Misnomer (Jazz/Fusion). Taylor draws influence from bands and musicians such as Carter Beauford, Snarky Puppy, Frank Ocean, Steve Jordan, James Blake, and many, many more. Taylor is proudly endorsed by Innovative Percussion.
